Personalised confession prayer

Beautiful God, Maker, Author, Sustainer – Perfect in Love, Lover of Mercy, Sure and perfect in Judgment,

I was born into fallen Adam, the family of slavery, sinner by birth – born again into Jesus, the Family of release – with new, complete and paid-in-advance fullness. Thankyou that Your Spirit in me is in the business of new life; life more abundant; life that is forward facing and growing as your light pushes back the darkness.

Thankyou that Your Spirit can’t rest beside sin and is faithful to not allow me rest there either.

Psalm 25 for reals

Psalm 25 grabbed hold of me a few days ago.

I’ve read and reread it.
Listened to it several times.
Searched for songs based on it –
– and had already decided to write about it verse by verse when, today it came up as part of a homework question in a book I’m reading along with some friends.

A raffle, a baby and a heart full of hope

Once upon a time a little 9 year old girl folded her heart full of hope into a tiny piece of paper with her name written on it, to go into a draw for the most desired prize she’d ever heard of. With every fold, her heart was pleading ‘please, please’ to be one of two from the class able to travel with the relief teacher to visit their much adored year 3 teacher at the hospital with her brand new baby.

Surreal summer holiday

Being on this little holiday has felt incredibly surreal. We arrived a bit early for check in so we went to hang out at a nearby park for a while after locating the house but as soon as I had seen it I had a flashback to a recurring dream I used to have as a child.

This dream was one I was always sad to wake from and which always felt unfinished. There was… is… more to it.
