What Jesus effectively did was build a bridge, cross it, and stand close enough to enable us to respond. He did whatever was in His power to do that.
What if, following His example sometimes means building a bridge to someone that is distant from us? We can’t make them cross it, we can’t make them build it, but maybe we can build and cross and be within reach. To do whatever is in our power.
What if each is waiting on their separate island waiting for the other to build first. Waiting for the other to fulfil, first. Flowing together takes movement.
Will we build? Loving sacrificially.
Loving unconditionally.
We only find out what they mean when we fully know how hard they are to do.
