Echos…

For to which of His children did God ever say:

1  “You’re driving me nuts”
2  “I’m going to leave you behind”
3  “What do you WANT?!?!”
4  “Shut up”
5  “I cannot believe you just did that”
6  “Stop asking so many questions”
7  “What’s wrong with you”
8  “Leave me alone”
9  “I can’t believe I have to _____”
10  “Not again”

Frustrations 1:1-10

But this time with healing in His wings

… to which of His children did God ever say (in words or tone):

…” he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”
Matthew 19:36

2  “I’m going to leave you behind”

“… There is no fear in love… God is love…”
1 John 4:16/18

3  “What do you WANT?!?!”

…”He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them,  “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”
Mark 9:37

4  “Shut up”

…”The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.  .”
Psalm 145:8-9

5  “I cannot believe you just did that”

… “Take my yoke upon you and learn from  me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls”
Matthew 11:29

6  “Stop asking so many questions”

… “Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing,  Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Ps 51:11-12

7  “What’s wrong with you” (Shame statement not enquiry)

…”But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control”
Galatians 5:23

8  “Leave me alone”

… “Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Matthew 19:15

9 “I can’t believe I have to _____”

… “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.”
Luke 15:20

10  “Not again”

…” At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures… But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.”
Titus 3:3-5

  • Conviction will lead you.
  • Condemnation will crush you.
  • Run to His arms.
  • I’ll see you there.

P.S. I chose each of those Scriptures based on Who He Is… the example of how He is with us… not on the basis of what to do – but of Who we’re called to be like.

… of our hearts… or of His…
